Organisational Transformation
Consulting & Strategy
Whole-system organisational diagnostics and culture change consulting. We work alongside senior leadership teams and boards to understand the root causes of organisational challenge and co-design sustainable compassionate cultures.
Overview
Our consulting approach begins with deep diagnostic listening — surveys, interviews and facilitated sense-making sessions — before moving into co-designed change strategies and supported implementation. We do not impose frameworks; we work with what is already alive in your organisation and help you amplify what works.
Outcomes
- Clear diagnostic picture of leadership culture strengths and gaps
- Board and senior team alignment around a shared cultural vision
- Reduced staff sickness, turnover and complaints
- Improved morale, psychological safety and organisational trust
- Sustainable change embedded across systems, not just individuals
Who It Is For
NHS Trusts, public sector organisations, large charities and corporate boards seeking sustained cultural transformation. Particularly suited to organisations experiencing leadership dysfunction, high sickness absence, poor staff survey results or following significant structural change.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions, Answered
We know that choosing a leadership development partner is a significant decision. Here are the questions we hear most often — answered honestly.
Do you tailor the training for our sector?
We will work with you to tailor the Compassionate leadership approach to your specific organisational and cultural context. Whilst we work in health and care, based on our previous backgrounds, we also have delivered Compassionate Leadership for Government organisations, Local Authorities, Universities, private sector organisations and charities.
Part of partnering with Compassionate will be the care we take so that we fully understand where you are, what you want to be different and together we will work with you and your people to help develop compassionate leadership.
Will we have to do role play?
Absolutely not! We are experienced in adult learning techniques and you will be using real live examples from your context to work through as ‘real play’ to get insights and practice compassionate leadership techniques. No Oscars, just curiosity and willingness to be open to different ideas and approaches.
Is this suitable for mixed groups or specific teams?
Yes and Yes! We will recommend the combination of Compassionate support that will give you the greatest impact and it is generally a combination or specific teams e.g. Executive, delivery teams as well as providing skills and awareness for mixed groups. Valuing difference and others understanding perspectives and experiences is also a key part of compassion in practice.
We learn at our best when we feel safe and able to be vulnerable, so we will work to explore the right configuration for your requirement
Can Compassion in Action be combined with Coaching/Leadership Development?
Yes, you can build your Compassion in Action ‘stack’ to include leadership development, coaching and action learning, which provides the optimum opportunity for individual and collective behavioural change. We can discuss the right combination and sequencing for your compassion journey.
Do you offer virtual delivery?
As so much about compassion is about connection and being human together, we offer both in person and virtual delivery. In our experience, you will get more impactful and sustained behavioural shifts when people meet, connect, share and learn together in person and recommend this particularly for the for the workshops and team coaching. We can provide virtual coaching, webinars, speaker sessions, Action Learning and Compassion Circles.
Both Nicola and Jane are experienced and skilled in creating rapport and psychological safety in the room and virtual room
What group sizes do you work with?
This depends on the work we’re doing with you. Team coaching is generally best with teams of 8-12. Group learning is best with groups of 12-30. Speaking can be much larger audiences.
